CAROUSEL INNER PANEL ARTWORK AND SILENT AUCTION

In 2017, the Friends of Mitchell Park supported the Greenport Village Carousel Committee in commissioning and  installing original art depicting early Greenport in the Carousel rounding boards. This year, we supported the Carousel Committee in replacing the Carousel inner scenic panels with more beautiful original paintings. Reproductions of the paintings are installed in the carousel, the original paintings are on display at Floyd Memorial Library until June 30, and they will be on preview at the Red Schoolhouse during the Gallery Walk on Friday, July 5 and sold at a silent auction on Saturday, July 6

FREE SKATE SUNDAY

The Friends of Mitchell Park with the help of Greenport Village sponsored free ice skating at the rink at Mitchell Park on Sunday, January 13, 2019, 11AM - 5PM, for skaters age 17 and under. We were fortunate and the weather cooperated, allowing us to give 89 skaters a day of ice skating.

DANCES IN THE PARK

Once again, the Friends of Mitchell Park made a donation to help support Greenport Village's premiere summer event, Monday Night Dances in the Park. What a great event, every year! Thanks to the Village of Greenport for all their hard work to make this happen.

SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK

Another annual summer highlight in Mitchell Park! Northeast Stage presented "Measure for Measure", and the Friends of Mitchell Park donated once again to help their efforts. See their website here.

DISCOVERING AMISTAD

At the request of Greenport school, The Friends of Mitchell Park sponsored educational events for Greenport and Southold seventh graders, conducted by the not for profit Discovering Amistad organization.
