FREE CAROUSEL RIDES

We offered free carousel rides for children aged 12 and under. December 17,2017, 11AM to 5PM

CAROUSEL ROUNDING BOARDS

Thanks to a grant from the Friends of Mitchell Park, Mitchell Park's signature carousel is being made more beautiful by the addition of original paintings of 14 locally-inspired themes.   Each original painting has being created by a local artist, then was digitized and reproduced for mounting in the available spaces. TAI CHI IN THE PARK

We started doing this last September, and are continuing for the entire summer in 2017.  Join us in Mitchell Park every Saturday, 9AM -10AM, from June 3 until September 9. A certified Tai Chi instructor will lead us in Tai Chi.

DANCES IN THE PARK

We are a perennial, proud contributor to Greenport Village's Monday Night Dancing in the Park, a free, outdoor concert series held in our namesake, Mitchell Park!  On Monday nights in July and August, starting at 7:30pm each evening a different band will perform from Country to Reggae within a family, friendly environment.  Bring lawn chairs, a picnic or there's plenty of choices for eat in/ take out within walking distance from the park. Put on your dancing shoes and join us!

SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK

Once again, the Friends of Mitchell Park has signed up to help support Northeast Stage's performance of Shakespeare in the Park at Mitchell Park, scheduled for August 3, 4 and 5.

ONE GREENPORT FESTIVAL

With funding from the Friends of Mitchell Park and support of the Village of Greenport, the newly-formed community organization, Greenport One, put on its first public event, an afternoon of free music, dance, art, and food in Mitchell Park, from noon to 3 on Sunday, June 4, 2017. Adults and children alike enjoyed the entertainment and art exhibit by students of Greenport school.
