Other Events We Supported In 2022

As we have for many years, we were one of the contributors to Dances In The Park, brought to you by the Village of Greenport. Get more information here.


We again contributed to Northeast Stage's production of Shakespeare in the Park (coming to Mitchell Park in August). Get more information here.


In July, Floyd Memorial Library brought a Brady Rymer concert to Mitchell Park, with help from the Friends of MItchell Park.

WHAT WE SUPPORTED IN 2022

​​​​Story Walk 2022

A StoryWalk is a project that places an illustrated children’s book, taken apart and displayed page by page, along a walking route in your community. The Friends of Mitchell Park supported the Story Walk that was on display in Mitchell Park in July, We've Got the Whole World in our Hands (Tenemos el Mundo entero en las Manos) by Rafael López.

​​​​Tai Chi 2022


We had another great season of Tai Chi, Saturdays, 9-10AM, from May through October. Thanks to all who attended and helped to make this, our signature summer event a success for another year! See you again next year for Tai Chi.

​​​​Once again, we teamed up with Greenport Village to bring you Free Skate Sunday, for skaters aged 17 and under. It included entry and, if needed, skate rental. We tried to sponsor two days, Sunday January 16, 2022 and Sunday February 20, 2022, 11AM - 5PM. 


We were lucky with the weather on January 16 and 241 skaters 17 and younger enjoyed a free day of skating! You can read about it and see a video in this article by Lisa Finn on the North Fork Patch here. Unfortunately, the weather was too warm and there was no skating on February 20. We'll try again next year!
